    The Global Marketing Operations (GMO) group has a unique opportunity for someone who is interested in digital marketing capabilities, and technologies that support social media listening, engagement and reporting. The Digital Systems and Analysis team is looking for an experienced and successful Senior Marketing Product/Solution Manager. The person in this role will draw on their knowledge of digital and social marketing to manage, and set the direction and strategy for, social marketing listening and engagement capabilities at Microsoft. This person will also have the opportunity to build out our digital marketing portfolio, by influencing and driving a solutions roadmap for social media interaction.

    The Global Marketing Operations group is a team of professionals who specialize in marketing operations and system strategy, business operations processes, solution management, business analytics, system deployment, and marketing operations services. This team is the primary interface between Microsoft’s global marketing community and corporate marketing business owners to document and streamline process, identify required capabilities and drive them with our partners into a set of global marketing IT business requirements to deliver marketing applications, standardized processes, training, and measurement associated with their performance. We deliver the global solutions used by over 10,000 marketers, sellers, and partners to share the power of software with customers around the world.

    Job Description:

    Summary of position:

    You will collaborate with business clients from our corporate, subsidiary and segment marketing teams to manage, deploy, scale and enhance our global social media capabilities, which Microsoft (and its agencies) rely on to monitor and analyze social media activity and sentiment, and engage in social media conversations with users and influencers. You will create and manage the social media systems strategy and multi-year roadmap. You will help drive future capabilities for social media, and look for opportunities to increase GMO’s digital marketing social media portfolio and engagement approach. You will be responsible for managing the relationship with our current social media service providers and partners, as well as other emerging digital marketing capabilities. You will provide the systems expertise, business process and requirements expertise, and leadership for the marketer experience on an integrated Marketing platform, working with a team of talented marketing solution managers and partnering with senior business and IT engineering leaders to deliver world-class solutions.

     

    Responsibilities:

    o Manage interaction, deployment and usage of social media listening and CRM systems to ensure that capabilities align with business needs.

    o Maintain strategic partnership and relationship with social media solution providers.

    o Define Microsoft’s strategy, roadmap and capabilities for social media-based marketing and customer interaction.

    o Provide strategic communications to marketing executives about our direction and progress toward achieving key roadmap milestones.

    o Maintain close partnerships with other functional groups across Microsoft, including corporate and subsidiary CMG and BMO teams, WW Segment teams, WW marketing support teams, business groups, and other technology partners including Microsoft internal IT and select vendors to facilitate product development.

    o Deliver superior product plans, business requirements, marketing process, and business architecture documents that:

    § Precisely identify customer, partner and Microsoft business needs.

    § Define business requirements for digital marketing solutions that enable efficient execution of marketing campaigns, world-class user experiences, close connection between marketing & sales, and analytical insights into marketing results.

    § Capture and integrate key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure operational effectiveness and return on investment (ROI) for digital marketing solutions.

    o Represent global perspective of business and end customer requirements/priorities throughout product development.

    o Evangelize the Global Marketing Solutions across Microsoft to marketers, vendors, and marketing agencies, sharing best practices to help people utilize solutions to support their marketing commitments.

    Competencies

    o Real-world knowledge of digital marketing, marketing systems, and/or CRM/SFA system experience required.

    o Persuasive public speaker in presentations and meetings with senior business leaders.

    o Prior experience managing global projects (requires international engagement).

    o Ability to multi-task and lead people managing projects under pressure along with an unwavering persistence, commitment, passion and optimism for this work.

    o Excellent cross-group collaboration skills and a working knowledge of Microsoft Solution Delivery Framework and IT development process will be helpful.

     

    Experience Required:

    o 8-10 total years previous work experience in marketing or related disciplines.

    o Preferred 3-5 years of experience with social media marketing programs and systems.

    o Worked closely with product managers, program managers, developers, testers, and support staff to manage high-profile corporate systems projects.

    o Has mastered the linkages between business and technical environments to align people, tools and governance around shared vision and common objectives.

    o Strong project management, organizational and analytic skills and experience.

    o Proven experience managing virtual teams to deliver IT/Marketing solutions.

    o Marketing campaign execution experience preferred (i.e. Campaign Management).

    o Prior experience in marketing consulting, product management, program management, system integration, or business process analysis focused on marketing systems strongly preferred.

     

    Education:

    o Bachelor’s Degree required in Business Management, Marketing, Computer Science, or related degrees

    o Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification preferred
