    Global Public Online Marketing – Senior Manager, Social Media and Community (SMAC) The Global Public Online Marketing team is focused on transforming Public dell.com and related online properties to deliver a best-in-class, personalized and engaging customer experience. The team’s mission is to drive a step function change in awareness and consideration of Dell’s solutions, products, and services for Public customers (education, government, and healthcare) via Dell.com, social media and internal/external online communities.
    The Senior Manager for Social Media and Community (SMAC) is responsible for leading the Public team to develop and implement a global social and community strategy. A strong partnership within online, marketing, communications, sales and the central SMAC team is required. This is an exciting, entrepreneurial opportunity to work with traditional and new technologies across the online ecosystem. Candidate must be a proven leader, have management experience and be a self-starter. Ideal candidate will have prior experience and a passion for online (website development, analytics, technology migrations, merchandising, social media, lead generation, and search engine optimization).
    Responsibilities:
    • Develop and implement a global social media and community strategy for Public, in tight coordination with Online, regional Marketing, Messaging and Communications teams
    • Work with central SMAC team to optimize training and technology implementations for Public (incubation and IT roadmap)
    • Implement online marketing plans for social media and word of mouth driven programs
    • Create integration and syndication between all social profiles and platforms, including TechCenter and other related Dell community properties
    • Work with Marketing teams to develop content to push through social media, with particular focus on supporting regional and global Marketing campaigns as outlined in annual/quarterly planning
    • Drive metrics production (central or via Public) and ROI for participation in social media sites and ensure success
    • Stay current with social media trends and incorporate as appropriate to improve the customer experience
    • Investigate and implement new technologies, services and capabilities and/or vendor solutions that enhance social media efforts
    Qualifications:
    • Proven leadership track record, including experience influencing the decision making of diverse, high level stakeholders and attracting and retaining key talent
    • Passion for social media and the internet. Proven track record in social media, evangelizing on behalf of a large organization
    • Significant experience with online social networking, the blogosphere, search tools and general Web 2.0 (Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, YouTube, Wikipedia, etc.)
    • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with executives via presentations and verbal communications is required.
    • Ability to multitask and self-manage in a fun, fast-pasted and creative environment.
    • Must have analytical skills, customer focus, and ability to motivate/engage others.
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business, or related discipline. MBA preferred, along with 10 years of online and/or related marketing experience.
    • Language Skills: Strong verbal and written English is required. Additional languages and international experience are a plus.
