    Job Description
    The Director of Brand and Advertising is responsible for defining, building and measuring VMware’s global corporate awareness campaigns and brand programs.
    You will drive the advertising strategy for VMware, including managing and evolving the current global corporate awareness campaign that is currently in market worldwide. With a small team, you will lead the awareness execution across digital, print, social media and search. Working with our advertising and media agency, you will create, manage and analyze our media strategy, and global schedules. You will manage a comprehensive set of measurements to monitor progress of the campaign globally, and you will adjust as needed to respond to the campaign metrics data.
    This role manages a small brand team that is responsible for developing, executing and measuring successful VMware corporate brand programs and research, to ensure brand consistency and increase overall brand awareness for VMware and our family of brands. This team builds brand training programs, as well as integration programs, and guidelines for VMware acquisitions.
    • 10 years in leadership roles including 4-5 years as a director of marketing
    • 5 years of advertising experience in tech for the enterprise segment
    • Both Agency and Client side experience preferred
    • Proven track record building high performance brand and advertising teams
    • Successful track record in building brand programs and global awareness campaigns across a variety of media channels, including social media and search
    • Strong foundation in campaign development and demonstrated success across advertising, media buying, advertising/brand research and measurement
    • Ability to show initiative by building on past experiences yet still develop creative, unique awareness and brand programs for VMware
    • Proven ability to manage external agencies and lead internal resources to encourage commitment and deliver on your programs and campaigns ensuring they are on brief, schedule and budget
    • Superior analytical and reporting approach to your programs
    • Strong communication and creative skills
    • Ability to thrive in a fast paced, rapid growth environment
    • Comfortable working with cross-functional teams and at all levels
    • Experience managing $10m budget
    • Solid understanding of international markets, and managing global programs
    • Proven track record building successful global vendor relationships with a variety of business models (ie project work, retainers, etc)
