    This position is for a Storage Technical Field Marketer who will support North American marketing and sales teams within Dell’s Large Enterprise Business Unit (LEBU).  You will be part of a larger marketing organization that includes field marketing, solutions marketing content development as well as marketing programs teams.  Ideal candidates will have a proven track record of bringing to market and accelerating sales of enterprise IT solutions, products, technology, software, and/or services.


    In this role, you will be a Dell storage technical marketing evangelist for both general and specialized sales teams as well as for Dell’s Large Enterprise customers in North America.  Dell’s storage business has one of the most complete solutions offerings including direct-attached, networked attached (NAS and SAN), disk-based data protection with deduplication, and archival storage.


    The role will include the following responsibilities:


    Sales Enablement and Support

    Provide sales with an overall understanding of Dell’s storage solutions with a specialty around the EqualLogic family

    Provide thought leadership and guidance on the development of critical sales and marketing materials

    Support each stage of the sales cycle with key marketing deliverables such as customer presentations, sales aids and tools, content and collateral, products and solutions, roadmaps, competitive information, pricing guidance, promotions, and special offerings

    Ensure sales readiness by providing compelling training, executing internal storage solutions launches, and delivering actionable sales metrics.

    Customer Engagement

    Deliver effective customer presentations on the breadth of Dell’s storage solutions portfolio to IT professionals and decision makers

    Drive market awareness around storage technologies like iSCSI, object-based storage, deduplication, unified storage, etc.

    Be a storage solutions and EqualLogic subject matter expert (SME) at customer and industry events

    Evangelize Dell storage solutions – especially EqualLogic – through a variety of marketing mediums including social media, workshops, articles, customer communities, etc.

    Marketing Support

    Provide support and thought leadership to the marketing programs team around the key elements of go-to-market strategies and marketing campaigns, ideal target customers, and specific marketing playbooks




    Ideal candidate will have the technical aptitude, business acumen, and leadership traits to drive team activities via peer relationships; a self-driven nature; talent to astutely create marketing material; and experience providing marketing support directly to sales.

    Excellent interpersonal and communications skills (written and oral)

    Computer system infrastructure (servers, switches, storage, software, etc.) knowledge

    Intimate understanding of the IT industry and market dynamics

    Experienced in creating a range of marketing content, presentations, sales tools, and training material

    Proven ability to develop marketing plans and collaborate with marketing programs teams for effective execution of lead generation, development, and awareness activities

    Demonstrated success in the development of competitive messages and deploying them through customer proof points in marketing materials

    Adept at communicating the advantages and benefits of company’s solutions to prospects, customers and partners

    Ability to communicate complex technical advantages to IT professionals as well as to IT executives in simplified business terms

    Skilled at delivering whiteboard sessions, presentations and hands-on solutions demonstrations to live audiences as well as virtual audiences via webcasts

    Technical acumen: must be able to develop in-depth knowledge of storage solutions and communicate the differentiated advantages and benefits to prospects, customers and partners

    Knowledge and experience with storage technologies like iSCSI, Ethernet, fibre channel, file systems, object-based storage, etc.

    4 years of marketing and/or technical sales experience in high-tech industries

    BS/BA in business or technical discipline;  MBA preferred.

    In this role, you will be the networking “other” (as defined as products sold through S&P) marketer for both general and specialized sales teams (inside and outside) as well as for Dell’s Large Enterprise customers in North America.
    The role will include of the following responsibilities:
    Partner Enablement and Support
    • Act as the lead for S&P networking partners in the LE business.  Regularly meet with partners and own the business relationship within the LE space.
    • Look for opportunities to leverage partner technologies in broader based marketing campaigns (ie…  achieve integration into the Efficient Data Center Messaging, for key networking partners)
    • Actively seek appropriate opportunities to utilize partner MDF $ to grow the networking businessSales Enablement and Support
