• Emulex Named CNA Brand Leader for 2nd Year

    IT professionals names Emulex Corporation (NYSE:ELX) the market leader in Converged Network Adapters (CNAs) for the second year in a row based on a survey conducted by IT Brand Pulse.   In fact, the October 2010 CNA Brand Leader Report indicates more than 50% of users prefer Emulex over its main competitors in all six categories that includ price, performance, reliability, service and support, and innovation.

    “Being recognized for brand leadership by IT professionals across every category that IT Brand Pulse surveyed can be attributed to the incredible market support our OneConnect Universal Converged Network Adapters (UCNAs) have received incredible market traction since they were launched in October of last year, with design wins from leading server and storage Original Equipment Manufacturers, including Cisco, Compellent, Dell, EMC, Fujitsu, Hitachi Data Systems, HP, IBM and NetApp,” said Steve Daheb, chief marketing officer and senior vice president of business development, Emulex. “Emulex’s UCNA architecture allows end users to easily scale their infrastructures with a base 10Gb/s Ethernet network adapter and field enablement options for iSCSI and FCoE hardware acceleration, providing investment protection and compelling cost saving benefits.”

    In fact, as compared to 2009, Emulex increased its CNA brand leadership by at least 20 percent over Broadcom, Brocade, Intel and QLogic across all categories indicating that the company has broadened and deepened its leadership over the past year.  “Emulex opened up their lead in the second annual CNA Brand Leader survey,” said Frank Berry, CEO, IT Brand Pulse, “A familiar name in storage, the Emulex brand has been enhanced in 2010 by OEM validation in the much larger Ethernet market.”

    Intel was the only other company other than Emulex to build brand equity in 2010 according to the survey, improving their standing in the price, performance, service & support, and innovation categories.  “I believe the halo of the Intel Ethernet Server Adapter brand is shining on their CNA capabilities, as 10Gb Ethernet adapter sales took off in 2010,” said IT Brand Pulse Senior Analyst Cheryl Parker who conducted the survey.
